Statement of Faith

 We believe:

  • That the Bible is the Inspired message of God to everyone. It tells us that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, God now offers forgiveness to all who repent and trust Christ as Saviour and Lord. We believe that, as well as revealing God’s love and salvation, the Bible is also the only guide for the Christian church and for Christian living.

  • That all who trust Christ are without exception members of God’s family and of the one body of Christ. To make this Christian unity true in practice, we prefer not to give ourselves a denominational name that seems to divide us from others, but simply to be known as Christians.

  • In the Eternal Godhead (the Trinity) consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • In the entire Bible as the inspired Word of God, and as the only basis of authority in all matters and especially, Christian faith and practice.

  • In the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is truly man and truly God in one Person.

  • That when the Lord Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s cross, He died for the whole world; that through His substitutionary atonement on the cross, all who accept Him as their personal Saviour have, by faith in Him, eternal life as a free gift from God; that there is salvation in no other way; and that all who reject Him as their Saviour are eternally lost and doomed to eternal punishment in hell.

  • In the convicting, regenerating and guiding power of the Holy Spirit, and the responsibility of the believer to walk in the Spirit according to God’s holiness.

  • That the Church of Jesus Christ is one body composed of all true born-again believers; that Christ in heaven is its only head; that the Holy Spirit is the only representative of Christ on earth; and that the name of Jesus Christ is the only true gathering centre for believers on earth.

  • In the ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

  • In the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and also in the bodily resurrection of the believer at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.

  • In the physical coming again of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth to gather His people to be with Himself and bring judgment and justice to those who do not believe the truth.
