Dear friend and ‘York neighbour’,
Please come and join us on Friday mornings between 10.30am and 12.30pm for Coffee/Tea and homemade cake and a chat.
Our ‘Friday Morning Friends’ group has been going for just over a year now and we have about ten regulars with a handful of other folks who drop in now and then.
Our aim has been to provide a safe place where anyone can feel welcome to simply have friendship and fellowship to help combat the increasing isolation and loneliness that modern life can bring.
Life is not always straightforward, and on a personal level and indeed on a global level change can happen very swiftly, and we feel alarmed and concerned about the way things are going.
If you have ever thought like that you are not alone.
Some folks come for the company and social chat about anything and everything, and others, from time to time, want to chat about the deeper things in life, and about what the Bible has to say about such things. We are always pleased and willing for such conversations despite us not being professional ministers, but just a group of ‘average Joe’s (and Josephine’s) who have come to know the contentment and peace that faith in Jesus Christ can bring.
We have some people who like doing jigsaws and there is one on the go most weeks. If it’s not finished on the day (it usually isn’t) it is kept securely for completion the following week or more.
We have three homeschooled children who come most weeks and they get us involved in all sorts of games and puzzles and quizzes!
There is no charge for anything, and we’ll be pleased to welcome you on any Friday when you’re able.
